The others stopped what they were doing to look at their leader, who was smiling brightly enough to light all of Seoul. After a moment, they shrugged at each other, returning to their previous activities.
Onew blinked, smile dropping, but only a bit. "Did you hear what I said? I can see the future!"
"We heard you," Key said from the sofa. "Were you expecting confetti and streamers?"
He puffed out his cheeks in a distinct pout. "No, but can't you do better than that? It's not like I say this stuff every day."
"You thought you could fly last week," Taemin pointed out, not once pausing his game.
"Yeah. You jumped off the stairs and everything," Jonghyun added, sulking when Taemin beat him. "You're just lucky that Minho had the brains to put mattresses at the bottom of the stairs." Upon hearing his name, Minho looked up from his book. He stared at the group for a few moments before smiling and returning to the paperback novel.
"Okay, I'll give you that one," he relented. "But I'm serious this time!"
"Then prove it," Key challenged.
"Fine! Key, you'll fall and accidentally rip your shirt when you do."
"What?! But I love this shirt!" he whined, grabbing the glass of water from the table beside him.
"Jonghyun's going to beat Taemin in the next game."
"That'll be the day," the magnae mumbled, earning himself a light punch to the arm.
"Minho's going to scream."
They all stared disbelievingly.
Finally, Key broke the silence by sighing dramatically and moving to stand. "I'll believe it when I see it."
As he got up, however, his foot managed to get tangled in the oversized comforter that they had bunched up on the couch. Unable to react properly, he pinwheeled his arms before falling over, catching his shirt on the end table, a loud rip echoing as the material split when he hit the ground. The glass that the boy had been carrying flew out of his hand and landed in Minho's lap, the shock of cold causing him to release a sharp and surprised scream, his book falling to the ground as he jumped to his feet and grabbed the towel one of them had left over a chair to dry himself off. At the unexpected sound from their quietest member, Taemin jumped, distracting him enough for Jonghyun to knock his character out, winning the game with a victorious shout.
Once everyone had finally calmed down, they all looked at Onew, who was practically bouncing with excitement.
"See? I told you so! Do you believe me now, guys?" he exclaimed, yet not stopping to let them speak. "This is seriously the coolest thing ever! Oh! I should become a psychic! I could make a killing!!"
The others watched as he turned around to run out the door, only to slam into the wall, knocking himself out.
"...Whatever he does, it's Onew Condition..." Taemin began singing quietly as they just stared at their unconscious leader.
Apparently, even seeing the future didn't stand a chance against Onew Condition.
