"Kyuhyun."
'How did I not notice him before?'
"Kyuhyun." It was more drawn out this time.
'The lean, trim muscle and that nice, firm-Oh! I had no idea that a person could bend that way...' he thought, tilting his head a bit.
"Kyu." A bit louder, and a different voice.
'He has got to have the brightest smile I've ever seen...'
"KYUHYUN!"
The two in tandem screams startled Kyuhyun, causing the elbow that had been propping his head up to slip and he narrowly avoided slamming his head against the table. Turning around, he glared at his two best friends, who looked entirely unrepentant.
"What the hell, guys!"
Yesung merely shrugged. "We tried to get your attention, but you were too focused on whatever it was you were looking at to notice."
"You're drooling, by the way," Ryeowook added, chuckling as his younger friend's hand quickly lifted to his mouth.
"Who's that?" Kyuhyun asked, motioning to the group a bit away from where they were seated.
"That's the Dance Team. I'm surprised that you've never heard of them. They're pretty famous around campus."
The magnae waved him off dismissively. "Yeah, yeah, that's great. I mean, who's that?" he asked, pointing to a specific person in the midst of the crowd.
It was Ryeowook who answered. "Oh, that's Lee Hyukjae. He's pretty much the school's best dancer. He's really nice, too."
"And I've never seen him around because..."
"That would be because when you're not singing, you're studying," Yesung teased. Laughing at his friend's expression, he added, "I don't know much, but you should talk to Kim Junsu if you're so interested."
"Junsu? The soloist in choir? Why him?"
"He's Hyukjae's best friend. I guess they grew up together," he explained.
Nodding, Kyuhyun turned his attention back to the redhead, smirk on his face.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Junsu stared at the younger boy before asking, "Come again?"
Kyuhyun sighed. "I wanna know about your friend Hyukjae."
He blinked. "Why?"
"Um, because he's hot?" the younger boy replied as it it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"So why now? Hyuk's looked the same since he started here."
"My friends informed me that I tend to only sing and study. Today was the first time that I'd eaten in the courtyard in a while, so I'd never seen him before."
Nodding, Junsu considered it. "He pretty much lives to dance, and he's a hell of a rapper. The brat is the most genuine person I've ever met, and he wears his heart on his sleeve," he explained. "He cries at the drop of a hat and rarely loses his stupid smile."
Kyuhyun chuckled. "You sound like me and Yesung." He paused. "Is he single?"
"As far as I know he is, though even I'm never sure about him and Donghae."
"Donghae..."
His other best friend. The two are pretty much attached at the hip, so he's hard to miss."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Am I what?!" Lee Donghae shouted, drawing attention to their conversation. Blushing, he repeated himself quietly.
"Are you dating Lee Hyukjae?" Kyuhyun asked again.
Donghae tilted his head. "Why do you wanna know?"
"I'm curious and need to know if I have any competition."
"You think I'm competition then?" The brunette was highly amused by the younger boy.
Kyuhyun shrugged. "Maybe. I talked to Junsu already and he said he never really knew about you two, so it only stands to reason that I'd consider you competition."
"Hyukkie is a really hands on person. He likes hugging and touching people. I don't mind it so much, so it makes sense that he'd hang on me," Donghae laughed. "There's nothing but friendship between me and Hyukjae, so you don't have to worry."
"Good." With that, Kyuhyun walked away smiling.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Now why are we doing this again?" Yesung asked.
"Because I need you to tell me what kind of guys he likes," Kyuhyun explained.
"Why not just ask him out?" Ryeowook suggested.
"Just do it, please?" the magnae pleaded, looking to all the world like a kicked puppy.
The pair stared at the boy before sighing in exasperation and walked over toward the dance group, not missing Kyuhyun's victorious smile.
"Excuse me?" Ryeowook asked politely, getting their attention. "Would it be okay to talk to you, Hyukjae sshi?" he asked the boy as he gracefully fell from the one-armed handstand he was in when the two approached.
Hyukjae blinked in confusion. "Um, I guess so." After turning to the others, he said he'd be back and followed the two singers. "So, what's up?"
Yesung, not one for censoring, spoke up. "Our friend thinks you're hot and wanted us to ask you what kind of guys you liked."
He just looked at the two. "How does your friend know I like guys at all?"
"He's been asking around, and no one's said anything to dispute it."
Nodding, he sat down on a nearby table, feet dangling. "I like people who like music, and who don't mind making fools of themselves. He should be able to make me laugh, even though it's pretty easy to do, and who treats me well, I guess." Standing again, he began walking back over to his friends before stopping, looking over his shoulder and smirking. "I also like a guy who'll tell me how he feels instead of sending his friends to do it for him."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Kyuhyun wanted so badly to just bash his head against the wall, but decided that he could easily do without the headache.
"That's what he said, Kyu," Ryeowook chuckled as his friend released what the boy would later deny as being a whine, dropping his head against the table of the bench they were eating at.
"Oh, you're still fine. He seemed more amused than anything," Yesung said, taking a bite of the sandwich. "Just tell him that you think he's hot and wanna jump him."
Kyuhyun smacked him upside the head. "I can't tell him that, idiot!"
"Sure you can," he replied, rubbing the back of his head gingerly. "Since when're you so shy?"
"You really like him, don't you?" Ryeowook asked, laughing when he blushed. "Just tell him. I mean, what's the worst he could say?"
"No?" Kyuhyun muttered, glaring at the young man.
The three continued to stare at each other until Kyuhyun sighed loudly, getting to his feet. Yesung and Ryeowook smiled brightly in victory as their friend stormed over to the dance group. They continued to watch as the magnae grabbed Hyukjae by the hand, dragging him to an empty area. After talking for a few minutes, accompanied by grandiose hand gestures, Kyuhyun reached forward and grabbed the dancer by the shirt and pulled him into a kiss.
Yesung turned to Ryeowook, more amused than he'd been in awhile. "That works, too."
Ryeowook just sighed, laughing.
