Distance had never before been an issue for JungMin and HyungJoon. Even when JungMin got accepted into the exchange program and left to study in Japan for a year('Get me Koda Kumi's autograph, would you?' HyungJoon had begged), and when HyungJoon and his family spent two in Australia('I hope you get kicked in the head by a kangaroo,' JungMin teased affectionately), there had never been a problem. They spoke daily, whether on webcam or over the phone and each had a nice sized collection of postcards from the other even though neither could read what was written without an interpreter.

Even when they were out of school and in the real world, their love for traveling continued regardless of the fact that it rarely worked out for them to go anyplace together. JungMin's job in the entertainment industry took him around the globe as did HyungJoon's. JungMin preferred Japan and America while HyungJoon spent a lot of time in Paris and Singapore. There was the occasional meet up whenever they were in the same hemisphere, but that was few and far between.

It was always amusing to the pair when their friends would ask advice on how they remained so close when at such a long distance while they could barely hold a stable relationship with the girl or boy down the street. 'He pesters me all day every day,' JungMin explained with a sigh. 'Payback for calling me at 3am. Just because it's afternoon where you are doesn't mean it is where I am...' HyungJoon shot back.

When JungMin and HyungJoon would finally meet up face to face after one trip or another, they would hole up in their apartment and not be seen for days. 'Why would we want to go out when we just got home?' the pair always replied. They never seemed to care what they did just as long as it was done together.

So it only seemed natural that when their time finally ran out at the hands of a drunk driver, that they be together. Everything had been planned in twos since friends and family knew that it would be wrong to have it any other way.

While distance had constructed and defined their relationship, in the end they remained together with not a stitch of distance between them.
